Description

A muslin blanket is a lightweight, breathable, and soft fabric blanket typically made from 100% cotton or a cotton blend. Known for its versatility and comfort, muslin blankets are loosely woven, allowing for excellent airflow and temperature regulation, making them ideal for babies, toddlers, or adults. They often feature a slightly crinkled texture, providing a cozy and gentle touch.

Muslin blankets are commonly used as swaddles, nursing covers, stroller covers, or lightweight bedding. Durable and easy to care for, they are a staple for everyday comfort.

Note - Muslin fabric typically shrinks by about 5% after the first wash.

Care Instructions

Muslin blankets are lightweight, which makes them easy to handle and store.

They also dry quickly, which is a major plus if you need to use them regularly or if you're traveling.

Softness: Muslin is naturally soft and gentle on the skin, which makes it ideal for sensitive skin.

Breathability: The loose weave of muslin allows air to circulate, making it quick to dry and ideal for hot climates.

Absorbency: Muslin blankets are highly absorbent, able to soak up moisture efficiently.

Wash Care

Pre-wash

If your muslin blankets are new, it's a good idea to wash them before the first use to soften the fabric and remove any finishing agents.

Washing

Machine wash: Wash muslin blabkets in cold or lukewarm water on a gentle cycle. This helps preserve the fabric and prevent shrinkage.

Use mild detergent: Choose a gentle, non-abrasive detergent to maintain the softness and quality of the fibres.

Avoid fabric softeners: Fabric softeners can leave a coating on the towels, reducing their absorbency and softness over time.

Wash with similar colors: To avoid any color bleeding, wash muslin towels with other similar-colored fabrics.

Drying

Air dry: Hang your muslin blackets to air dry whenever possible, preferably in the sun. This helps preserve their natural softness and minimizes shrinkage

Avoid bleach

Bleach can weaken the fibers and affect the texture and color of the towels.

Ironing

Muslin blankets typically don't require ironing, but if you prefer a smoother look, use a low heat setting and steam.
