Is your baby enjoying skin-to-skin contact, or are you finding any challenges around it? It’s something that gets easier the more you practise

How to Practice Skin-to-Skin:

Start Early: Ideally, you can begin skin-to-skin contact right after birth, but it’s still beneficial at any time in the first few weeks.

Undress the Baby: Keep the baby in just a diaper and place them on your bare chest, ensuring they’re in a comfortable position.

Use a Blanket: Cover both you and the baby with a light blanket to keep warm, ensuring that the baby’s head remains uncovered so they can breathe easily.

Time: Try to do skin-to-skin for at least 30 minutes at a time, but even shorter sessions are valuable.

Even if you’re unable to breastfeed right away, practicing skin-to-skin can still be an important bonding experience and can help regulate your baby’s body and stress levels.
